Tired of Praying without Result?

What do you do when you’ve done all you can?

There comes a time in life when you reach your limit, where you have done everything in your power, yet nothing changes. You’ve exhausted all options, prayed, fasted, sought advice, and tried to hold onto faith, but the breakthrough seems distant. Tired of Praying without Result? What Next?

The answer is found in the Bible.

Let’s be real—there are moments in life when it feels like the walls are closing in.

You may be:

  • A mother praying for a prodigal child who continues to rebel despite your prayers and guidance.
  • A man searching for a job after sending hundreds of applications with no response.
  • A wife crying out for her broken marriage, yet your spouse remains distant.
  • A believer battling sickness, standing on God’s promises for healing, but the symptoms persist.
  • A pastor praying for revival in your church, yet the attendance remains low, and the fire seems to have gone out.

You’ve done everything you know to do. You’ve been faithful, yet the heavens seem silent. there is a solution!

God is calling you to prayer! Not just any prayer—but the kind that shakes the heavens, moves mountains, and demands a supernatural response. This is not weak, wishful praying; this is targeted, persistent, and commanding prayer that forces a shift in the spiritual realm.

James 5:16-18 declares:
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.”

  • Elijah was a man like us—facing fears, doubts, and human struggles. But his prayers carried authority, and they caused the heavens to respond. This is the kind of prayer that will shift your situation when you have done all you can.

Biblical Examples of Those Who Prayed When They Had Nothing Left

1. Elijah: When the Heavens Refused to Open

Elijah had spoken a prophetic word that caused a drought for three and a half years. But when the time came for breakthrough, he engaged in fervent, strategic prayer (1 Kings 18:41-46).

  • He didn’t just pray once—he prayed seven times until he saw a small cloud appear.
  • He postured himself in intercession, putting his face between his knees.
  • He persisted until the rain poured down.

This is the power of fervent prayer—it pushes until the heavens respond!

2. Hannah: When Barrenness Seemed Final

Hannah had done all she could. She had waited, endured shame, and cried silent tears. But in 1 Samuel 1:10-20, she engaged in a different kind of prayer—a deep, soul-wrenching cry that got God’s attention.

  • She didn’t just wish for a child—she poured out her heart before the Lord.
  • She made a prophetic vow, aligning her desire with God’s will.
  • She prayed with such intensity that Eli thought she was drunk!

That was the turning point. Her prayer shifted her reality, and she gave birth to Samuel, a prophet who changed Israel.

3. Jehoshaphat: When the Enemy Was Too Strong

Jehoshaphat faced an impossible situation—three armies were coming against him. He had no military advantage. But instead of panicking, he turned to strategic, fervent prayer and worship (2 Chronicles 20:1-30).

  • He reminded God of His promises, declaring God’s past victories.
  • He gathered the people for corporate prayer, positioning them for divine intervention.
  • He worshiped before the battle even began—and God sent confusion into the enemy’s camp!

This is how breakthrough happens: When you’ve done everything, shift into strategic prayer that demands a response from heaven!

How to Engage in Strategic Fervent Prayer

1. Recognize That You Are in a Spiritual Battle

Your situation is not just natural—it has spiritual roots. Ephesians 6:12 says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

  • If your finances are blocked, there may be a spirit of delay or poverty resisting you.
  • If your family is under constant turmoil, there may be a generational curse that must be broken.
  • If you feel spiritually dry, there may be a spirit of heaviness trying to quench your fire.

You must discern the real battle and engage accordingly!

2. Shift from Begging to Declaring

Casual, weak prayers won’t work in moments of crisis. This is the time for commanding prayer!

  • Instead of saying, “God, please help me,” declare: “In Jesus’ name, I command this mountain to move!”
  • Instead of saying, “Lord, I hope this changes,” decree: “Every obstacle standing in my way is removed now!”

The Bible says life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21)—so use your words to shift your situation!

4 (Four) ways a believer must pray

  1. A – Authoritative Prayer
  2. C – Commanding Prayer
  3. D – Decreeing Prayer
  4. P – Prophesying Prayer

A – Authoritative Prayer

Jesus gave us authority over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). This means you don’t ask the enemy to leave—you command him to go in Jesus’ name!

  • Instead of saying, “Lord, please protect me,”
  • Say, “I take authority over every attack of the enemy! No weapon formed against me shall prosper!”

C – Commanding Prayer

Jesus didn’t beg the storm to stop—He commanded it:
“Peace, be still!” (Mark 4:39).

  • Instead of saying, “Lord, I hope this changes,”
  • Say, “In the name of Jesus, I command every obstacle to move! Let doors of opportunity open now!”

D – Decreeing Prayer

Job 22:28 says, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee.” Your words have the power to shape your reality. When you decree, you enforce heaven’s will on earth.

  • Instead of saying, “I hope things get better,”
  • Say, “I decree favor over my life! I decree supernatural acceleration in my finances! I decree open heavens over my family!”

P – Prophesying Prayer

Ezekiel stood in a valley of dry bones, and God told him, “Prophesy to these bones” (Ezekiel 37:4). He didn’t cry or beg—he spoke life into the dead situation!

  • Instead of saying, “Lord, please heal me,”
  • Say, “I prophesy healing over my body! I declare my health is restored, my strength is renewed, and every sickness must bow to the name of Jesus!”

3. Pray with Specificity and Scripture

Jesus always prayed specific prayers:

  • He commanded the storm, “Peace, be still” (Mark 4:39).
  • He called Lazarus by name, “Lazarus, come forth” (John 11:43).
  • He prayed for Peter’s faith not to fail, “I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail” (Luke 22:32).

Your prayers must be rooted in the Word of God.

  • If you need healing, declare Isaiah 53:5 (“By His stripes, I am healed”).
  • If you need deliverance, decree Luke 10:19 (“I have given you power over all the power of the enemy”).
  • If you need open doors, proclaim Revelation 3:8 (“I have set before you an open door that no man can shut”).

4. Pray Until Something Happens (PUSH)

Elijah didn’t stop at the first prayer—he pressed seven times. Sometimes, the answer is on the other side of persistent intercession.

  • If you’ve prayed once, pray again.
  • If the door hasn’t opened, keep knocking.
  • If the rain hasn’t come, keep commanding the heavens.

John Knox said “Lord, give me Scotland ere I die”

“I fear the prayers of John Knox more than all the assembled armies of Europe” – Mary, Queen of Scots

5. Add Fasting to Your Prayers

Some breakthroughs only come through prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21). When you fast, you:

  • Silence the flesh and tune in to God’s voice.
  • Weaken the enemy’s strongholds.
  • Accelerate supernatural breakthroughs.

6. Worship as a Weapon

Worship is not just praise—it’s a weapon. When Jehoshaphat worshiped, God fought his battle for him.

When you’re at the end of yourself, begin to worship. Declare:

  • “You are the God of breakthrough!”
  • “I bless You, Lord, because You are fighting for me!”
  • “My miracle is already done in Jesus’ name!”

Final Words: Keep Praying Until the Rain Comes!

When you’ve done all you can—don’t give up. Shift into strategic, fervent prayer. Pray like Elijah. Cry out like Hannah. Worship like Jehoshaphat. And watch as God move in your life and family!
