New Year Goal-setting made simple
As this year is fading away and the new year begins, it’s natural to reflect on where we’ve been and where we’re headed. But too often, we make resolutions about career success, fitness goals, and financial security or even tick off items on our bucket list. But what about our spiritual lives?
Do you know that spiritual growth isn’t just for pastors or “super Christians”—it’s essential for everyone who desires a fulfilling, balanced, and God-centered life? So, if you’ve struggled this year in your relationship with God, prayer life, or Bible study, this is the perfect time to reset and realign in the new year.
In Matthew 6:33, Jesus reminds us, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”.
This verse teaches us that spiritual growth has a ripple effect. When we prioritise God, every other area of life benefits.
Why You Need A Spiritual Growth Plan
Without an intentional spiritual growth plan, we risk burnout, discouragement, and a life that feels disconnected from God’s purpose.
Here’s why setting a spiritual growth plan matters for you:
1. Financial Wisdom and Peace:
Growing spiritually helps you view money as a tool to glorify God, leading to wise stewardship and contentment.
2. Stronger Relationships and Marital Bliss:
A deeper connection with God equips you to love, forgive, and communicate effectively with others.
3. Improved Mental and Physical Health:
Studies show prayer and meditation reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and boost mental clarity.
4. Achieving Life Goals:
Spiritual growth gives you focus and discernment, helping you make decisions aligned with God’s will.
5. Fulfilment Beyond the Bucket List:
Instead of chasing temporary thrills, spiritual growth fills your life with meaning and eternal purpose.
I’m encouraging you not to settle for less in the coming year. God has a BIG plan for your life, and it’s only through spiritual maturity that we develop the capacity to know and actualise His Big plan.

A Doable Plan for Spiritual Growth
Spiritual growth doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. With small, consistent actions, you can experience lasting transformation.
Here are activities to build into your daily and weekly routine:
1. Start Your Day with a “First 15” Routine:
Spend 5 minutes in worship, 5 minutes in Bible reading, and 5 minutes in prayer every morning.
2. Take Prayer Walks:
Dedicate a walk around your neighbourhood or park to pray for your community, personal growth, and God’s guidance.
3. Practice Gratitude Journaling:
Write down three things you’re thankful for each day. Gratitude shifts your focus to God’s faithfulness.
4. Memorise a Bible Verse Weekly:
Post it somewhere visible and meditate on it throughout the week.
5. Fast Weekly:
Set aside one meal or day to fast and seek God’s presence, asking for breakthroughs in specific areas.
6. Engage in Worship Beyond Sunday:
Create a playlist of worship songs and spend time in God’s presence throughout the week.
7. Join a Prayer or Bible Study Group:
Accountability and encouragement from other believers keep you motivated and grounded. I encourage you to be part of Global Revival! Our mission is to set you on fire for God so you can help others too.
8. Serve:
Volunteer in your local church or ministry. Serving shifts your focus outward and helps you reflect Christ’s love.

Would you challenge yourself to experience personal revival?
James 4:8 promises, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
Revival doesn’t happen by accident—it starts with a decision to seek more of God.
This year 2025, challenge yourself to move beyond a superficial faith and dive into a deeper relationship with Him.
